Projects
Mini Projects
Projects focus on scholarship, research, debate, and development, related to the experience of learning and teaching in health professions education for learners, teachers, as well as the organisations and environments in which they operate.
The term 'mini' is to describe the funding available not the quality of the work!

- Employability Tool
For most Higher Education students, employability on graduation and over the long term is a major priority. Our Subject Centre with the support of the Higher Education Academy funded the Employability Profiles Project to indicate the skills which can be developed through the study of particular subjects.
These profiles are for use by students or prospective students, individuals already in employment, people working within particular education sectors and employers alike. Following on the production of the profiles there was a high demand for the employability profiles, hence an evaluation of how the profiles were used was taken.
Open Education Resources Project (OER):
Project PHORUS is part of an intitiative to release open educational resources focused on public health in the Higher Education sector. Funded by HEFCE and supported by JISC and the Higher Education Academy, PHORUS is led by the Health Sciences and Practice Subject Centre working with the Royal Society for Public Health, Bournemouth University
and other institutions.
JISC Distributed e-Learning (DeL) Projects:
As part of a closer working partnership and strategic alliance between the Higher Education Academy and the JISC, the Academy has signed a contract to receive £1.3m in funding over a two year period (ending 31 March 2006) as part of the JISC's Distributed e-Learning programme http://www.jisc.ac.uk/programme_edistributed.html
The funding is intended to enable Subject Centres to engage with HEFCE's political and strategic agendas and to work with their subject communities to use technologies to support learning and teaching. The work of the Subject Centres will primary address section 4 of the Distributed e-Learning programme which focuses on the cultural issues and subject differences surrounding embedding e-learning technologies.
