Framework for Action on Interprofessional Education & Collaborative Practice (WHO 2010)

World Health Organization 2010

The interprofessional education (IPE) and collaborative practice communities will be delighted to WHO Framework cover 2010receive the World Health Organisation's "Framework for Action on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice".

This is an important document that carries key messages that underline that interprofessional education and practice will play an important part in mitigating the global health workforce crisis. It emphasises IPE's role in preparing a 'collaborative ready workforce' and sends the message that the World Health Organisation and its partners acknowledge that there is sufficient evidence to indicate that effective interprofessional education enables effective collaborative practice.  This document gives renewed energy to every educator, practitioner and student engaging in teaching, practising and learning collaboratively and offers a strategic lead to our work in advancing interprofessional education.
