Service user and carer led research is an untapped resource, with the potential to transform curricula and to shape practice in the field of mental health.
The event aims to:
- improve knowledge of, and access to, high quality user led research
- provide opportunities to evaluate user led studies.
- review approaches to embedding user led research in teaching
- debate the benefits of involving service users and carers in research, and in research training.
The day will be facilitated by three experienced researchers: Jan Wallcraft (Independent Consultant), Ann Davis (Director, CEIMH) and Marion Clark (User involvement worker, CEIMH). It will be interactive, with opportunities for networking and discussion.
This event, organised and hosted by CEIMH (Centre of Excellence in Interdisciplinary Mental Health), is part of the mhhe (Mental Health in Higher Education) funded workshop series.
Deadline for bookings: 1 February 2010.
