Background:
Institutions of higher education are moving to support learning and teaching beyond the campus. Delivery of content ‘beyond the campus’ supports many agendas and policy initiatives – access, distance learning, foreign student support, open learning, social learning and flexible learning. These developments, which have been driven partly by technological progress, are gaining momentum, especially in the current economic and political climate.

Learning on Screen 2010 – Conference Themes
:
The conference, which focuses on the use of moving image and sound in learning and research, will demonstrate examples of good practice in support of learning ‘off campus’. We are delighted that Learning on Screen 2010 will take place at The Open University, one of the most innovative and successful universities in the UK and an institution which has championed open and distance learning for more than 40 years. Colleagues from the Knowledge Media Institute and from the Multi-Platform Broadcasting Department are collaborating in the organisation of this event which promises huge opportunities for participants.
