Aims of workshop
- Consider how far cultural concepts explain some of the challenges to interprofessional learning and working
- Examine and develop strategies to facilitate interprofessional learning which build on current experience, perceptions and readiness
- Manage the learning environment in ways that support the development of collaborative skills
- Evaluate the potential of appreciative inquiry approaches to enhance the student experience of 'learning with, from and about each other'
- Appreciate the resonance between interprofessional teaching, learning and professional practice
Example activity included in workshop
Strategies for interprofessional teaching will be the subject of general participant discussion. This will be guided by input from workshop presenters around the findings from a study related to interprofessional teaching. Participants will undertake a small group activity where they are asked to develop a model of facilitation that could overcome professional cultural difficulties.
Proposed learning outcomes of workshop
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
